It is better to be high-spirited even though one makes more mistakes, than to be narrow-minded and all too prudent. A lot of my work evolves as much for me as it appears fully formed when I finally get around to showing it to the public. This piece in particular started out as a study of blue light on pale skin. The story grew out from the woman organically and unexpectedly. The title owes its inclusion to Christopher Moore's novel of the same name which I was reading at the time.

"Poetry surrounds us everywhere, but putting it on paper is not so easy as looking at it.
One can speak poetry just by arranging colors well, just as one can say comforting things in music. For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream"
- Van Gogh
