Magpie Charmer

I have long been charmed by random collections of tiny, precious nothings. I thought that a companion for a magpie would feel similarly.  Would she find symbolism in his gifted trinkets?  Would he tell her of his day with the button and the bottle cap and the four pieces of yarn?  I know she would wear them with pride.  The very best plastic bobs would lay against ancient embroidery of her best dress.
